In-person Consultations

Who this is for

Any student in need of receiving recommendations regarding behavior reduction procedures, training of non-PlaySchool staff, school consultations, and monthly follow up consultations.

How it works

Upon referral for consultation, the BCBA conduct an observation and assessment at the student’s school, home, or sessions. Following the assessment, the BCBA writes a report that summarizes the school observation and future recommendations. The BCBAs then meet with the family, and based on the recommendations and meeting, a treatment plan is put into place, and future consultation frequency is determined if needed.

Who is a BCBA?

A professional who has obtained a masters degree and has studied and received at least 1500 hours of training in Applied Behavior Analysis. A BCBA has passed a board examination that allows her to create individualized ABA programs for clients and to supervise the work of behavior therapists and other individuals who implement ABA procedures.

What is an Individualized Treatment Plan?

An ITP is an individualized plan outlining goals selected for a student based on their assessment and observation. Goals outlined are either skill development goals (e.g., Social skills, basic compliance, or language development), and/or behavior reduction goals, selected to ensure student success in the environment where behavior problems are occurring.
