Applied Behavior Analysis is a science and method of treatment that is recommended for children with autism, developmental disabilities, or children with behavior problems. It is a type of therapy that uses evidence based practices to focus on the development of language skills, play skills, independence skills, group skills, as well as self-help and social skills in addition to the reduction of problem behaviors.
A session student is any student receiving 8 hours or less of ABA therapy per week.
Our team is made up of two Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), a Qualified Autism Service Practitioner Supervisor (QASPS) who is also a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
Before a student enrolls in sessions at PlaySchool, an assessment is conducted by the Behavior Analysts. Based on the assessment results, an individualized treatment plan is created for the term and then for every new term, the BCBAs update or write a new individualized treatment plan based on the student’s progress. The Behavior Analyst meets with the parents every term to share the student’s progress and the treatment plan for that term.
